This time we are visiting wh-p Beratende Ingenieure. Helen Schweickhardt and Max Daub provide an insight into the daily timber construction practice at wh-p. Selected projects are used to highlight the challenges involved in implementing visible timber structures.
Prof. Martin Stumpf takes us on a journey into clay construction, opening up different perspectives on the subject: Research – standardization – practical reality.
Lorenz Riedel from the Institute of Building Structures and Structural Design (ITKE) reports on the construction of a large span, point supported timber slab system and its implementation in the IntCDC Building at the University of Stuttgart. The building system developed in the IntCDC Cluster of Excellence introduces a flat slab system made of wood that allows for large spans with irregular support grids, thus expanding the architectural possibilities in timber construction.
Afterwards, the topics can be explored in greater depth in the respective discussion rounds, and as always, there will be plenty of time for exchange and networking over drinks and finger food.
